As we approach Easter, I’ve been really keen for us to sing some great congregational songs which remind us of what Jesus did for us on the cross and to help focus us on the great love of God for us. King of Kings (from Hillsong) really fulfils this with some strong, affirming lyrics and is wrapped up in a great melody (which is also very easy to pick up!).
This is one of the verses – take a read, it’s amazing truth:
To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
For even in Your suffering
You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus for our sake You died
The creative team met and practised this last night and just with a few plays over, it’s already sounding great! We will start playing this on Sunday mornings later in the month – but I would encourage you to take a listen and let these truths soak in – so we can worship God together with this song, soon!
